  • Never to strike or otherwise harm the cat.
  • Never to have the cat declawed.
  • From the moment of adoption, adopters are responsible for seeking out veterinary care for sickness, disease, or injury. Veterinary care is entirely at the adopter’s expense.
  • To ensure that the cat’s vaccinations for rabies and distemper are current and maintained annually.
  • Adults must supervise all interactions with cats or kittens when young children are present.
  • Kittens are fragile and must be handled with care.
  • Implement safety precautions for welcoming a cat or kitten.
  • Kitten proof your home.
  • When you travel, plan for the care of your pet.
  • All members of the household agree to this adoption.
  • No-one can predict health or accidents with our pets, adopters must be able to financially provide for this cat if they needed a vet visit shortly after adoption.
  • Your cat may have recently been spayed/neutered and you will be provided with a certificate with the date. Please limit activity for the first two weeks and keep an eye on the incision. The stitches are self-dissolving.
  • If you are adopting a kitten, please book an appointment with your vet for about a month after the adoption. This is typically for the booster and rabies vaccine (kittens must be 4 months old). Your vet may also recommend a second or third deworming.
  • Adoption fees include vet checkup, spay/neuter, core vaccines, flea, and tick prevention, deworming and microchip. In some cases, the cats have received their Rabies vaccine. Kittens require a booster, 3 to 5 weeks after the initial vaccine. We do not do the bloodwork for FIV / Felv – Kittens must be at least 6 months old to provide an accurate test result.
  • We cannot test for FIP – Please contact the rescue for additional information on the Drug trials program.
  • You consent to an adoption picture being taken for our Facebook adoption notices.
  • You consent to the foster contacting you after adoption for follow-up.
  • Microchips will be transferred to your name between 6 to 8 weeks after adoption. Biscuits and Purrs Cat Rescue will always remain as a secondary contact for your cat's microchip.
  • I understand that failure to fulfil the foregoing agreement will constitute a breach of contract. In the event of any such breach of contract, I authorize the original caregiver to reclaim possession of the adopted cat.
  • In return for the conditions above, the original caregiver agrees to allow the prospective caregiver to adopt the above-mentioned cat.
