Cats must remain indoors as companion animals, always. Roaming pets unnecessarily leads to full shelters (barn placement excepted). To provide the cat with enough nutritious food and fresh water each day. Never to strike or otherwise harm the cat. Never to have the cat declawed. From the moment of adoption, adopters are responsible for seeking out veterinary care for sickness, disease, or injury. Veterinary care is entirely at the adopter’s expense. To ensure that the cat’s vaccinations for rabies and distemper are current and maintained annually. Adults must supervise all interactions with cats or kittens when young children are present. Kittens are fragile and must be handled with care. Implement safety precautions for welcoming a cat or kitten. Kitten proof your home. When you travel, plan for the care of your pet. All members of the household agree to this adoption. No-one can predict health or accidents with our pets, adopters must be able to financially provide for this cat if they needed a vet visit shortly after adoption. Your cat may have recently been spayed/neutered and you will be provided with a certificate with the date. Please limit activity for the first two weeks and keep an eye on the incision. The stitches are self-dissolving. If you are adopting a kitten, please book an appointment with your vet for about a month after the adoption. This is typically for the booster and rabies vaccine (kittens must be 4 months old). Your vet may also recommend a second or third deworming. Adoption fees include vet checkup, spay/neuter, core vaccines, flea, and tick prevention, deworming and microchip. In some cases, the cats have received their Rabies vaccine. Kittens require a booster, 3 to 5 weeks after the initial vaccine. We do not do the bloodwork for FIV / Felv – Kittens must be at least 6 months old to provide an accurate test result. We cannot test for FIP – Please contact the rescue for additional information on the Drug trials program. You consent to an adoption picture being taken for our Facebook adoption notices. You consent to the foster contacting you after adoption for follow-up. Microchips will be transferred to your name between 6 to 8 weeks after adoption. Biscuits and Purrs Cat Rescue will always remain as a secondary contact for your cat's microchip. I understand that failure to fulfil the foregoing agreement will constitute a breach of contract. In the event of any such breach of contract, I authorize the original caregiver to reclaim possession of the adopted cat. In return for the conditions above, the original caregiver agrees to allow the prospective caregiver to adopt the above-mentioned cat.
