Meet Dexter!
This handsome boy, mostly white with a few stylish grey patches, came into care as a feral cat. At first, he was cautious and kept to the safety of his three-tiered kennel while his foster family worked on building his trust and helping him feel comfortable.
But Dexter has been making huge strides! For weeks, his foster family left the kennel door open, and while he wasn’t quite ready to venture out, he showed lots of interest in befriending the resident cats. Then—big milestone—Dexter decided on his own to explore the foster room! He spent a full hour calmly checking everything out, enjoying the company of his foster humans and cats, before voluntarily returning to his kennel when he was done.
This is such a wonderful step forward for Dexter, and his foster family is excited to continue his supervised adventures as he learns that the world outside the kennel is safe and welcoming. From a frightened feral to a curious, brave explorer—Dexter is showing us just how much heart he has. 🥰
