Jamie is the 47th cat rescued from the Lancaster colony.  After years of no care and multiplying in numbers, the colony had grown to nearly 50 cats. Many of the kittens were dead or near-dead, when we arrived. It was one of the most heartbreaking situations we have confronted.

Jamie is known in his foster home as one of the Three Brave Kittens from Lancaster. The trio has now become a duo as Ashley has found her forever home and is living her best life, while Jamie and Olive have grown into a beautiful pair, still waiting for their turn.

After a tough start as a kitten in a colony, Jamie has come a long way. He is starting to feel more and more comfortable in his foster home. His foster writes that they get the sense with Jamie that once they break through his tough outer shell, he has the makings of a big lap cat. For now, he is still quite timid and prefers to keep a bit of distance from people.

Jamie is incredibly sweet, has never shown any aggression, and simply needs the right person to help him continue building trust. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, Jamie has so much potential to blossom.

Jamie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is hoping to find a safe adoptive home with a patient adopter who speaks “shy cat lingo” and can provide the time and space to shine. He is great with other cats, has perfect litter box habits, is low-maintenance as a house guest and he is trying very hard to leave his past in the past and start a new beginning.

Jamie would do best with someone experienced or willing to give them the time and space they need to feel safe. They’ve already overcome so much, and now they just need a chance to truly belong.

Could you be the one to help this brave heart take the next step? 💛
