Patches arrived with a convoy of Freedom Drivers on a transport filled with animals saved from euthanasia at Quebec pounds—just in the nick of time.

She is a 4-year-old tortoiseshell, already spayed and vaccinated. Her original name was Chatouille (which means Tickles), though she doesn’t seem to respond to it. For now, she’s happily known as Patches.

She was reportedly surrendered due to skin allergies, though her medical records indicate no specific cause was found, and a diet change was recommended. Since arriving, we’ve seen no signs of over-grooming or fur loss.

Patches settled in immediately in her foster home—she exited her carrier within moments, enjoyed a bowl of high-quality Weruva fish canned food, used her litter box, and quickly began seeking affection.

She appears very healthy. She does have some muscle loss in her back legs and belly girth, both likely the result of spending two months in a cage. With time, movement, and love, she should regain her strength.

Patches is alert, curious, a little talkative, and already hopping into her foster’s lap for attention. She seems curious about, but not aggressive towards, the foster’s cats and dogs on the other side of the glass door of her foster room. This sweet girl will continue to gain confidence, strength, and even better health while she’s with us on her journey toward a new life.

💜 Welcome to BPCR, Patches. 💜
