Found lying injured on Hwy 511 near Maple Grove School in Lanark, this brave boy had clearly been fending for himself for far too long. Hit by a car, terrified, and all alone… his luck had finally run out. Or so it seemed.

But then – everything changed.

After surgery, a healing journey, and some serious cage rest (which he did not appreciate, thank you very much), Smash began to realize something new:

People = food, comfort, kindness, and… chin scritches?

At first, he just watched from his corner. Then came the chirps, the cautious sniffs, the nightly Temptations treats , and the slow, beautiful transformation from “feral” to full-on lovebug. He is 3 years old and had relied on himself only for so long but after the dedicated TLC of his foster, Smash has had a change of heart.

Now? Smash greets his foster with happy tail flicks, wraps around their legs like a pro cuddler, and even rolls over for belly rubs (on his terms, of course). He keeps an eye on the kittens like a grumpy uncle and follows his human around to make sure they’re doing everything just right.

Smash isn’t just a cat. He’s a comeback story. And now, he’s ready for his forever home.

His foster is totally smitten – honestly, it’s taken this long to let go simply because saying goodbye is that hard. But Smash deserves a family of his own, where love and safety are his new normal.
